La Petite Galérie is located in the beautiful Cellar Lounge at Rapscallion Pub in Sturbridge and features local artists who display their artwork for three months at a time, with an opening for each show.
Melissa Beyer
Located just outside of Worcester, MA, Melissa Beyer is a self-taught watercolor artist with a degree in Electrical Engineering. A huge fan of Bob Ross, she dabbled in oil painting in her teens and early 20s, but in recent years was drawn to the translucent nature of watercolors (and the ease of clean up!) Her engineering side revels in learning about advanced color theory as well as the more technical aspects of art such as visual and atmospheric perspective. She loves to play around with different styles and techniques, sometimes adding a bit of ink or gouache to her paintings. She also enjoys sharing and introducing people to the medium through her beginner watercolor classes.
Not only a watercolor artist, Melissa is also an avid fiber artist, expert knitter, knitted accessories designer, and instructor. Her work can be found on Instagram @KnittyMelissa.
