Spearheaded by Spencer and Sturbridge Mug Members, the HOPS Foundation provides financial support to community members in need in Spencer and Sturbridge, MA and the surrounding area.
Board Members and other volunteers work together to host charitable events that raise funds for these important initiatives.

The HOPS Foundation is selling ornaments this year in support of our float, for $10 each! Remaining proceeds will be dispersed charitably to those in need within our community. We’re getting so close to December 14th!!

Parade meetings continue!! Our amazing team of volunteers is making huge progress and we can’t wait to show the community what we’ve been working on. 👀👀

A little rundown of some of the fundraising efforts the HOPS Foundation has held so far😊
♥️November 2023 we held food drives in both Rapscallion’s Spencer and Sturbridge locations. In Spencer all items were donated to the Mary Queen of the Rosary Church Food Pantry. All items in Sturbridge went to the Wales Community Food Pantry.
♥️Going on year 4, Rapscallion mug members have organized a float to include in the Spencer Parade of Lights. 2022 themed Christmas Vacation the crew placed 2nd and 2023 with A Charlie Brown Christmas scored 1st place! Winnings and proceeds from fundraising efforts went towards what is now established as the HOPS Foundation. Check out the float this year!😉
♥️March 2024 we held a chili cook off with 25 contestants and over 100 people in and out throughout the event to enjoy the food and the raffle table!
♥️June 2024 HOPS partnered with Second Chance Animal Shelter to run a supplies drive. Items including food, toys, leashes, blankets, etc were donated.
♥️August 2024 HOPS entered a car in the Spencer Fair demo derby. Events were held in advance where donations to HOPS gave individuals the opportunity to decorate the car beforehand.
We have more coming and can’t wait to share the experiences with our community!

To help our team execute this float, we are raffling off TWO individual mug memberships. The initial funds will support the parade float but as always, all remaining proceeds will be dispersed charitably through HOPS.
Tickets to enter the raffle are $10 and there is no limit per person! They are available at both Rapscallion Spencer and Sturbridge behind the bar and from various volunteers. Cash only. The drawing will be back at Rapscallion Spencer after the parade on December 14th… which is actually where the route ends! We hope to see you all there☺️
