Tomoko Iwamoto & Gypsy Electro

THURSDAY, JULY 24
7:30–9:30PM
Tomoko Iwamoto, “jazzy” violinist, has been in Boston jazz scene for more than 30 years. She is a band leader of “440 Gypsy Jazz Quartet,” presenting her virtuoso violin performing skills and creative arrangements and compositions in gypsy jazz style. On her recent European tour, she performed at the Django Festival Portugal in Lisbon. Craig Ball, swing clarinet player — leader of the White Heat Swing Orchestra — noted, “Tomoko is the best violinist in the area I’ve ever heard.” Her new project “Gypsy Electro” presents modern interpretations of traditional gypsy jazz tunes, featuring acclaimed gypsy jazz guitarist, Bruno Peterson and popularly demanded bassist, Greg Toro.
